VACANCY Programme maker / community organiser Queer Stitches

19 August 2024

In June 2025, the TextielMuseum will open an exhibition on the ways in which textiles play a role in the work of artists from the LGBTQIA+ community. In it, we aim not only to highlight how textiles are deployed in works of contemporary artists, but also to provide a historical perspective. This exhibition will be put together in collaboration with a co-creation group from the same community you are part of, and the exhibition will also be activated several times during its run by a series of events.

The aim of these events is that they will be organised by, for and with local LBHTQIA+ people and interest groups. To moderate the co-creation group and to curate the events, the TextielMuseum is looking for a freelance programme maker/community organiser with a network in Tilburg's queer community or communities. Are you that local talent? Then apply no later than 2 September

About us

The TextielMuseum is a dynamic and creative museum located in a former textile factory in Tilburg. It is the only place in the world where textile design, art, fashion, industrial heritage and innovation come together. The combination of inspiring exhibitions, educational programmes and the specialised TextielLab for creating and innovating textiles makes the museum unique in its kind. In the TextielLab, the beating heart of the TextielMuseum, (inter)national artists and designers explore the endless possibilities of textiles together with our experts.

The TextielMuseum is committed to being an inclusive and safe environment for its public and staff. We can and always want to keep learning in this regard, which is also why we feel it is important to make this project in dialogue with the LGBTQIA+ community, with both LGBTQIA+ people in our own team, and beyond.
