The Project Space at TextielLab is a dynamic space where art and design come together. Here you can see works that have recently been developed in close collaboration between artists and the experts at TextielLab. It is not just about the final result: the making process itself takes centre stage. Visitors are given an insight into how ideas emerge, how sketches, mood boards and experiments are developed, and how techniques are tested to arrive at the final work.

<html><body>Memories of a Garden is a series of wall hangings created during a residency with artist Marc Mulders at the Baest estate. In May 2025, Van Eijk spent several days in a mobile garden house in the middle of the nature reserve, which was at that time in full bloom.
Inspired by the views and details of specific flowers and plants, she created four watercolours. She then delved into her extensive fabric archive and began the process of cutting, arranging and layering to create rich textile collages. In the lab, these were translated into four woven wall hangings, two of which are shown here.
This series not only celebrates the beauty of nature. It is also a quiet protest against the gradual disappearance of nature from our urban environment and the resulting threat to biodiversity.</body></html>

An Ode to Yarn consists of a series of wall hangings and blankets in various colourways, of which one wall hanging and three blankets are shown here. With these works, Post pays tribute to yarn and textiles&mdash;a love that has been passed down through generations via her mother.

Post&rsquo;s grandmother spent her entire life working with needle and thread. In her hobby room, she kept everything that might be useful for a future textile project: a rich collection of haberdashery that Post now draws on with gratitude.
With Simone Post&rsquo;s grandmother&rsquo;s generation, knowledge of textile skills is gradually disappearing. As a result, fewer and fewer people understand how much time, material and energy goes into the making of textiles. This inspired Post to create the series. Alongside needle and thread, the design also incorporates personal references to her grandmother.

An Ode to Yarn bestaat uit een serie wandkleden en dekens in diverse kleurstellingen, waarvan er hier &eacute;&eacute;n wandkleed en drie dekens te zien zijn. Met deze werken brengt Post een ode aan garens en textiel. Een liefde die via haar moeder van generatie op generatie is doorgeven.&nbsp;&nbsp;
