Masterclass: Sculptural Shaping
In this master class, you will explore the pin-tuck method and other techniques. Artist Kinga Földi will teach you how to create beautiful, organic textile sculptures. In an online prep session (8th of April), you will be taught how to prepare your own fabrics so that you can start designing right away during the master class.
Pin-tuck is a decorative sewing method often used in folk art and traditional costume making. This technique involves a straightforward process of folding the fabric and sewing each fold individually. The resulting pleats create a striped surface that can be shaped into organic forms through additional processes.
About Kinga Földi
This workshop will be facilitated by Kinga Földi, a visual artist and designer based in Hungary, who specialises in creating sculptures using the pin-tuck
method. The pin-tuck stitching technique, initially used for designing blouses, has evolved into the defining element of her creations, forming the intricate scales of her sculptures. Her techniques are deeply influenced by nature, with flora and fauna serving as key inspirations that resonate throughout her silk sculptures.

- Before this master class, you will participate in an online session on Tuesday, April 8th. Kinga Földi will then explain how to prepare your fabrics. During the master class on Friday 25th of April, you can use the materials you prepared or those prepared by Kinga
Cancellation and reimbursement
What if you have bought a ticket but cannot attend the master class?
- If you let us know that you cannot attend at least four weeks before the masterclass, we can cancel your participation and give you a full refund. You can also choose to change your ticket to the same master class on another date, provided there are still places available.
- Unfortunately, if you cancel less than four weeks in advance, you are not entitled to a refund or rebooking.
- You may pass your ticket on to someone else. If so, we would like to know who will take your place no later than one week in advance.
