Audiotour TextielLab

With our free Dutch-language audio tour, you’ll hear the workshop come alive. Between the hum of machines, the soft shimmer of yarns and the steady, focused rhythm of makers, you’ll experience how ideas evolve—thread by thread—into textiles that hold your gaze.

Simply use your own smartphone: scan the QR code at each station in the TextielLab and let the story unfold. For the best experience, bring your headphones or earphones and immerse yourself fully in every sound and detail. The audio tour is in Dutch, but once you’ve scanned the QR code, you can read along in English.

Your guide is Vinny Tailor. Across seven chapters, the making process reveals itself layer by layer, like a textile growing before your eyes. We recommend following the chapters in order, so the story can weave its way through the lab as intended.

Along the route, you’ll meet the makers who bring this place to life, as well as artists Otobong Nkanga and Elmo Mistiaen, who have developed their ideas here into internationally acclaimed works. Together, their voices form a rich tapestry of stories. By the end, you won’t just understand the TextielLab—you’ll feel it: a place where tradition, experimentation and craftsmanship intertwine.

Curious?

Visit the TextielMuseum and experience it for yourself. As you enter the TextielLab, you’ll find the first QR code immediately on the wall to your left. Scan the QR code and step into our world.
