Welkom! Leuk dat je luistert naar de audiotour van het Textiellab! Mijn naam is Vinny Tailor en in zeven delen neem ik je mee door het verhaal van het Lab. We volgen samen een

route waarin ik je meeneem door alle fases van het maakproces. Het is dus het mooist als je de delen op volgorde luistert.

Je hoort straks verschillende mensen die hier bij het TextielLab werken. Zoals het hoofd van het lab, een meesterwever, een materiaalspecialist, een conservator en een oude en een jonge machinespecialist. Ook hoor je twee internationale kunstenaars die werk maakten met het Lab: Otobong Nkanga en Elmo Mistiaen. Als je hun verhalen zo samen hoort, weet je precies wat hier allemaal gebeurt. En ook: wat een unieke plek dit is!

Welcome to the TextielLab audio tour.

My name is Vinny Tailor, and in seven episodes I’ll guide you through the story of the lab.

We’ll follow a route that takes you through every stage of the production process, so it’s best to listen in order.

Along the way, you’ll hear from people who work here: the head of the TextielLab, a master weaver, a material specialist, a curator, and both a veteran and a young machine specialist. You’ll also hear from two international artists, Otobong Nkanga and Elmo Mistiaen, who created work at the lab.

Together, their stories give you a clear picture of what happens here – and why this place is so unique.
