From Tilburg to Milan | Salone del Mobile

11 April, 2016

The TextielMusem is a 'working museum'. Especially the Textile Lab, the beating heart of the museum, is a place for the makers. Collaborations with our partners and the combination of craftmanship and innovation result in beautiful co-creations. A few of the designers which we've worked with the past year present their designs and projects during the biggest furnuture and design fair ot the world, the Salone del Mobile in Milan and we're also present! Follow us between 12 and 17 April during the Salone del Mobile on Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat (@textielmuseum). We will keep you posted on the website by adding the latest new nformation every day on this live-blog.

'Masterly – The Dutch in Milano are Dutch designers, artisan producers and design agencies which present themselves in the centre of Milan. At the fascinating Palazzo Francesco Turati the Dutch pavilion arises with the best design and artisan craftmanship the Netherlands has to offer.'

Second and third day in Milan | Several showcases of both national and international designers

During the second and the third day in Milan we went to several locations. During designweek there is so much to see in Milan, which means you have to make choices, but also means you walk into surprisingly beautiful presentations by accident.
One of the projects we'd loved was 'CasaVitra' of Vitra, togheter with designer Hella Jongerius. The project Colour Machine showcase the insights and inspirations of Hella Jongerius during the design process.

At the hugh presentation of HAY we found the new products of Scholten & Baijings, designed for the Danish brand. The new bed linnen has surprising colours; the products are developed in the TextielLab | TextielMuseum. HAY and the UK lightning label showcase their collections in a multiroom indoor and outdoor installation. New furniture and accesories are featured alongside the HAY minimarket an pop-up atelier.

Roos Soetekouw showcased her designs at Ventura Lambrate. She collaborated with Alex de Witte for this presentation. He designs lamps of glass, named 'The Big Bubble'. The textile collection is inspired by a world full of the most inspiring creatures and microscopic structures.
