In this masterclass, you will weave your own cap using an ingenious braiding technique. Dive into the world of three-dimensional weaving together with designer Adrianus Kundert. He developed a technique in which part of the wickerwork is digitally prepared.

During this masterclass you will work with paper leather; a very strong and washable paper that looks like leather. With the help of flat strips you can braid a stable three-dimensional shape within a few hours. During the making process you experience how craft and modern technology can go hand in hand.
The aim of the masterclass
During the masterclass, you will learn the braiding technique developed by Adrianus Kundert. You practice this technique by braiding your own cap. After the masterclass, you can continue to experiment with this technique at home.

About Adrianus Kundert
Adrianus Kundert is a designer and enthusiastic basket weaver. Not in the traditional way, but driven by the urge to innovate. Within this craft, he has developed a braiding technique in the past few years with which digital techniques can speed up and simplify handicrafts so that the technique fits better in a post-industrial society. He is also the initiator of the Basketclub, where a group of international designers weaves a basket every month based on an emoji. This year Adrianus is also guest curator at Crafts Counsil Nederland, who have dedicated their annual program to basket making and for which Adrianus is designing an exhibition that can be seen during the Dutch Design Week 2021.
